This musical poem by German composer Rolf Rudin tells the legend of the Irish Prince Oenghus, who has fallen in love with a flutist who appears to him in a vision as he falls asleep. The stage for this tragic love story is set in Teil 1, while Teil 2 depicts the prince's journey through a dreamlike would of beauty, mystery, and peril. In his dreams, she repeatedly disappears, remaining unattainable. --James Huff 13:53, May 29, 2007 (EDT) (from the program notes of The Claremont Winds, submitted with permission)
